What each category involves

These descriptions cover the MakeX Inspire and Starter category structure.

4–7 years

Inspire — Fruit Wonderland

The entry-level MakeX Inspire category, designed for the youngest competitors. Teams drive their robot along simple paths and complete approachable missions that build coordination, sequencing and basic logic.

8–12 years

Inspire — Smart Logistics

The 2024 MakeX Inspire Smart Logistics competition focuses on simulating modern factory logistics scenarios, to teach students about Internet of Things and artificial intelligence technologies.

Teams have the flexibility to engage in tasks using either manual or automatic methods, or a combination of both, to optimise their strategy for success.

8–13 years

Starter

MakeX Starter is a multi-mission competition programme for teenagers. It integrates an automatic stage and a manual stage, which greatly enhances the fun and the participation experience of the competition.

The concept of multiple missions and the alliance cooperation design fully exercises contestants’ critical thinking and strategic planning, as well as improving communication and cooperation between alliance teams.
